# Yard Operative

**Job Title:** Yard Operative

**Location:** Liverpool

**Salary:** £12.76 per hour plus regular overtime

**Job type:** Permanent, Full Time

**Working hours:** Monday – Friday 07.30am – 4:30pm plus regular overtime (Saturday mornings 08.00am – 12.30pm paid at time and a half).

Chestnut Building Centres are a family-owned independent Builders Merchant supplying a wide range of quality products at competitive prices to both trade and the public.

**About The Role:**

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Yard Operative to join our team in Wavertree, Liverpool.

The Yard Operative will assist in the running of a busy builder’s yard.

**Key Responsibilities Include:**

- Serve customers quickly and efficiently
- Collate orders for delivery
- Receive and check incoming deliveries
- Ensure paperwork is accurate
- Assist with regular stock takes
- Maintain standards of cleanliness and safety within the working environment
- Undertake any reasonable task from time to time at the Branch Manager’s request as may be deemed appropriate within the scope of the post

**About you:**

- **You must have a Forklift Licence**
- An understanding of general building, roofing and timber materials
- Flexible ‘can-do’ attitude
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Able to work effectively in a team or alone under own initiative
- Strong communication skills
- Experience cutting timber to size desirable but not essential
