Job Title: Facilities Assistant

Location: Plumstead, South East London

Salary: £20,835 per annum

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time (35 hours per week)

The school is a thriving and rapidly improved school recently judged Good by Ofsted (May 2018). They are dedicated to providing a world-class education to the young people and families of Royal Greenwich, and hold a strong commitment to promoting excellence, justice and success for all their young people.

They are looking for a Facilities Assistant to join the Premises Team, under the direction of the Facilities Manager. The Facilities team provide a high quality service to take care of the premises and school grounds, in order to secure a clean, comfortable, accessible and safe environment for all users of the school buildings.

The post will include:

  • Maintaining the school grounds,
  • Carrying out minor repairs and routine maintenance,
  • Supervising external contractors whilst in the building
  • Acting as a key holder – ensuring that the building is safe and secure at the end of the day.

You must be available to work 3 evenings per week as part of your core shift pattern. Flexibility is essential.

The Candidate:

  • You will ideally need to be qualified to Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • A technical qualification or skilled vocational qualification is also desirable.
  • Experience of carrying out grounds and minor work is essential along with the ability to follow procedures and to take direction from senior staff.
