Job Title: Course Director – Graphic Design

Salary: Up to £52,500 per annum (DoE)

Location: Tower Hill, London

Job Type: Permanent, Full time

If so, we have an exciting opportunity as a Course Director in Graphic Design at LCCA!!

London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA) is a dedicated institution specialising in business, creativity, contemporary art, experiential and real-world learning with a broad network of industry connections, aided by our association with University College of Arts (UCA) and other leading brands. With LCCA’s pedagogic approach to experiential blended learning, we empower our students to get a real feel for working within the business world or creative industries, by shaping a career in the sector.

The Role:

Graphic Design is central to LCCA’s DNA, and the role requires a skilled professional who can devise and deliver blended courses across platforms, engaging students to understand creativity through design. The candidate will be inspiring students to deliver superior designs through challenging their vision in what contemporary graphic design consists of. The candidate must have an impeccable track record in successfully progressing students as well strong industry links that will enhance and enrich the blended nature of delivering graphic design courses.

Key Activities & Responsibilities:

  • To set, promote and maintain appropriate educational and professional standards of good practice in teaching, delivery and curriculum development
  • To undertake general course management responsibilities including lesson planning, teaching, curriculum development, assessment, admissions and administration
  • To work with the academic team, contributing to curriculum development and the review and development of cross-disciplinary teaching strategies
  • To lead course team meetings, course committee meetings and organise and prepare for examination boards
  • To co-ordinate projects and promote the exchange of ideas and methods of working across specialist areas to broaden the student’s experience
  • To produce an annual course monitoring report and ensure the continuous improvement and development of the course
  • To manage the overall programme of teaching and assessment
  • To develop strategies to enable the College to maximize funding for the further education provision

The Ideal Candidate:

  • As the Course Director, you will be qualified to a degree level, and have extensive experience of leading and motivating a team of staff
  • You will have a great track record of teaching, developing curriculum including looking at learning resources and outcomes
  • You will have a keen eye in ensuring all quality processes are effectively followed and the courses are delivered to a high standard
  • You will work collaboratively with fellow Course Directors and the Academic Deans, in achieving LCCAs business objectives
  • Staff will look to you for leadership and support, while you will be entrusted with efficient quality control, resource management and a collaborative working approach
