Job Title: Customer Account Coordinator

Location: Alton, Hampshire GU34 2YT

Salary: £25,000 – £35,000

Job type: Permanent, Full Time.

The role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a position within a sales office environment maintaining and managing customers from enquiries received right through to quotations and account management. We are international company servicing our customer base both local and around the globe. We are looking for a professional individual who is flexible, pragmatic, commercially aware and client-driven. The ideal candidate will have experience in a customer service environment, excellent communication skills. Previous experience in Aerospace and Defence would be an advantage but not essential.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • POC for sales activities for assigned administrative customer accounts
  • Review incoming RFQs from assigned customers
    • Research and verify part numbers using company database and web tools
    • For strategic RFQs – aim to secure – end user, application, program info, target pricing etc….
  • Convert incoming RFQs into enquiries for purchasing team
  • Load costs received for agency and delivered model enquiries
    • For delivered model – research part schedule B # and applicable duty rates
  • Prepare quotations – setting customer sell price based on factors such as: previous sale history, average margins for same/similar parts and overall customer average, customer targets and feedback, competitive information (online prices), personal assessment of transactional time/costs (including internal freight) etc…
  • Obtain and prepare any supporting documentation (drawings, datasheets etc…)
  • Follow up all high value and strategic quotations – obtain feedback and update quote tracker file
  • Review incoming customers POs – verify customer compliance with quoted terms and verify Ex-El can comply with any customer flow downs and Ts & Cs. Obtain corrected PO if divergences are present
  • Contract review customer POs and convert into ISOs for purchasing team
    • Obtain end user statements from customer where required
  • Acknowledge customer POs when delivery dates are confirmed by suppliers
  • Review and process customer PO amendment requests
    • Ensure COAs are sent to Ex-El Inc for agency orders
  • Liaise with admin team to pro-actively monitor customer open orders, manage customer expedites and notify/update customers on all delivery delays & issues
  • Manage customer portal activities where relevant (PO processing, delivery updates, contest late deliveries etc…)
  • Liaise with quality team to ensure all customer rejections/complaints/quality queries are processed efficiently
  • Provide single POC customer service for all customer after-sales issues – liaise with relevant internal departments to efficiently troubleshoot and resolve all queries/problems
  • Pro-actively communicate with customers to solidify relationships and extract new opportunities

Notify customers of any relevant changes within Ex-El (new lines/services etc…)

The Candidate:

  • Previous experience in a client facing role is essential
  • Customer-facing/sales experience gained in any industry would be an advantage – Aerospace and defence would be ideal but not essential
  • Demonstrate professionalism to clients, colleagues, and customers
  • Customer account Management experience
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Desire to learn and develop within your role
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage your own time efficiently
  • Analytical mind and ability to use own initiative and commercially aware.
  • Good IT literacy – Familiar with MS Packages – Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
  • Excellent communication, written English and grammar skills.
  • Able to work and collaborate efficiently within a team.
  • Quality conscious with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Competitive salary £25 – 35K (37.5 hours) depending on experience
