Job Title: Accounts Administrator/Bookkeeper

Location: York

Salary: £22,000 – £26,000 Dependant on Experience

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

Mulberry PM is a fast-paced, forward-thinking company offering Almshouse and block management services across Yorkshire.

We’re passionate about upholding the Almshouse vision of providing secure, comfortable homes to elderly and/or vulnerable adults, and work with charities to provide this. We help trustees and board members manage the day-to-day operation of Almshouse s on a bespoke basis. Our services include accounts, book-keeping, safety compliance, property maintenance, supporting trustees with the resident application process, providing a point of contact for residents, corporate governance, and administrative support.

The Role

You will be joining our Team as the Accounts Administrator for all our Almshouse Charities as well as assisting the Finance Manager with Block Management part of the business.

Responsibilities include

  • Raise and receipt invoices for Almshouse residents’ contributions
  • Record and pay supplier invoices
  • Reconcile Bank accounts
  • Prepare finance report for Trustees meetings
  • Work with external accountants on providing reconciliations and paperwork for yearend accounts (but not full preparation)
  • Liaise with Almshouse Trustees

Plus, for Block Management

  • Raising and distributing invoices, including Ad Hoc invoices
  • Allocating bank receipts and making payments
  • Banking payments and bank reconciliation
  • Processing supplier invoices and payments
  • Client Year End Reconciliation

Ideal candidate

  • Solid all round bookkeeping experience to trial balance level
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Solid experience and confidence with Excel and preferably also Xero or similar accounting packages
  • Diligent with details and accuracy
  • Always looking to improve upon current processes and efficiency
  • Full UK driving licence
