Job Title: Lettings & Property Management Accounts Assistant

Location: Chelsea

Salary: £25,000.00 – £26,000.00 Per Annum

Job Type: Permanent, full time

The Role:

Residential Lettings Estate Agency, Farrar & Co, are the leading independent property specialists operating predominantly within The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their Lettings and Property Management team. This role will be split between the Lettings and Property Management departments on a 3 day/ 2 day arrangement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sales ledger postings and bank reconciliation of client account reviewed monthly by the Financial Controller (FC).
  • Respond to Landlord (LL) and Tenant (TT) queries.
  • Set up new tenancies and charges, and raise split commission/let only invoices.
  • Provide general support & assistance to the Lettings team, including general administration and filing.
  • LL & contractor payment runs.
  • LL & TT debtors/arrears review with Lettings Director (LD) and FC.
  • Produce negative LL ledger report to identify float replenishment – Send to lettings property manager and assist communicating with LLs.
  • Archive report to be reviewed with the FC to monitor archiving of closed tenancies.
  • Recharge LL/TT costs to the respective LL/TT accounts.
  • Review new tenancies and reconcile charges with rent demands before month end.
  • Aspasia training and development with FC, as well as training property management accounts assistant to provide cover for the role.
  • Quarterly Non-Resident Landlord (NRL) tax return processed after review with the LD.
  • Prepare the ARLA audit with the FC (June/July).
  • Complete HMRC – UK Landlord Return & NRL Return.
  • Review Aspasia software and highlight inefficiencies to the FC.
  • Review internal accounts processes and suggest/implement changes via FC.
  • Provide support to the property management accounts assistant.
  • Provide support to property management client accounts.

Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, not necessarily in an estate agency.
  • They must be adept with various accounting software and demonstrate a strong level of excel and word skills.
  • The incumbent must also have great communication, both verbal and written, and can work well within a team and independently.
  • They should show that they are ‘hands on’ and willing to learn as full training will be provided.
