The Role:

Moose Toys are looking for an Accounts Assistant, with proven and demonstrable experience, to join the Cornwall based team.

Based just 8 miles outside of Newquay, our Cornwall office is the Moose Toys UK and European Hub. In the past 18 months we have experienced considerable growth and opportunity and, as we continue to develop and invest in our strategic growth plans, we are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join the team.

Working as part of the Accounts Payable group you can expect be involved, but not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Processing of monthly VAT reports for UK & EU tax authorities and reconciling VAT content to the ledger
  • Cash flow management
  • Assisting with royalty reporting
  • Setting up supplier accounts
  • Raising, sending and paying invoices
  • Proactive reconciling of accounts
  • Setting up regular payment runs for Sterling, Euro and Dollar payments
  • Management of company credit cards
  • Analysis of monthly purchases as required
  • Maintaining fixed asset register
  • Building relationships, answering questions and supporting the Moose team and our external customers

Additional duties that support and improve the efficient running of the accounts team

Experience and Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a fast-paced office environment, as part of an Accounts or Management Accountant team
  • Ideally AAT qualified or working towards the qualification
  • Excellent Accounting knowledge with high levels of computer literacy to include Excel and the use of in-house systems
  • A structured, diligent, analytical approach to the accounting process, with outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
  • Motivated and driven to resolve anomalies through investigation, proactive problem solving and solution solving
  • Experience of working with high volumes of transactions
  • Knowledge of customs rules would be highly advantageous but is not essential
