The Impact You Will Have:

You’ll be immersed in a collaborative and fast-paced environment where every day you will be building relationships with our customers and suppliers whilst providing them with the best service quality.

As an Air Freight Specialist, you will play a vital role in maintaining communication and control throughout all phases of the air freight operations process, ensuring all necessary information is communicated to colleagues and third parties maintaining all operations run smoothly and on time. You will handle both Import and Export air freight shipments, including liaising with airlines, overseas agents and both internal and external customers and suppliers. You will also manage and resolve any customer service issues, tracking and tracing freight through to final destination.

A Typical Day:

  • Requesting and gathering quotations from suppliers and partners in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Managing the air freight operation from receipt of customer bookings and arranging collections to booking cargo with carriers.
  • Generating export booking confirmations and import arrival notices.
  • Managing air freight customs entries with our customs team.
  • Preparing documentation for import clearance, keeping track of entries and arranging deliveries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Building and developing relationships with suppliers to establish loyalty, ensuring quality and continuity of service.
  • Dealing with and developing relationships with airlines and overseas agents to ensure our customers’ expectations are met.
  • Updating account managers with the status of their shipments and dealing with enquiries.
  • General freight administration

Is this the Role for you?

  • You have experience in a similar role or a 2:1 degree.
  • You have strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • You are able to work to a deadline and make decisions under pressure.
  • You’re a natural problem-solver and can think on your feet.
  • You have a methodical approach to work, whilst being able to work accurately at speed when required.
  • Working autonomously is a key part of this role so you need to be self-motivated and driven to complete a task to the highest of standards.
  • Are you a chatty person? This is vital as communication is key to this role updates need to be given in a professional timely manner
