The position would be particularly appropriate for a part-qualified Accountant and candidates, desirably but not essentially, will come from an industrial or manufacturing background and will have some years broad experience.

Subject to performance, career opportunities will be available to progress throughout the Glasdon Group of Companies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Production of monthly Management Accounts
  • Maintenance of control accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintenance of Fixed Asset Registers
  • Assisting the Group Accountant with the production of monthly consolidated Group Financial Reports
  • Assisting the Group Accountant with the production of annual Budget Packs
  • Assisting the Group Accountant with the production of annual Statutory Accounts and supporting Audit Files
  • Production of various weekly and monthly financial reports for the Directors
  • Preparation and checking of monthly and quarterly VAT returns
  • Involvement in Credit Control and Credit Insurance
  • Carrying out intercompany reconciliations

About you:

  • Proficient with MS Office, Excel spreadsheets and accountancy software
  • Some Finance experience within an industrial or manufacturing background
  • Good analytical skills and proficiency with maths
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organised, self-motivated, pro-active with the ability to multi-task
  • An effective team worker
  • Part qualified in CIMA or ACCA (desired but not essential)
  • Degree educated (minimum 2.1) or AAT qualified
  • Valid UK Driving Licence (Essential)
