Job Title Business Development Executive

Location: Barnsley

Salary: Up to £25,000 DOE

Job type: Full Time, Permanent – Probationary for 6 Months

Hours of Work: 35 Hours per Week,
Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm (usual hours, work outside of these hours may be required)

The Role

You’ll be a key member of the Business Development team being the first face and voice of the Society; you’ll need to create a good and lasting impression with every contact you make. You’ll be trained, developed, and accredited to ensure that you’re equipped with the skills and knowledge to talk about our savings, investment and life insurance products and to deal with more complex enquiries made by our existing / potential members and supporting intermediaries. You’ll have lots of variety on a day-to-day basis including telephone calls (absolutely no cold calling), email, on-line chat and face-to-face via appointments and events. Ideally, we are looking for candidates that are ready to work, this role is not suitable for candidates currently in full time education.

About You

We are looking for someone with the right attitude and skills to help spread the word about Sheffield Mutual and deliver our products and services to members and intermediaries.

You’ll be a ‘people person’ who isn’t afraid of picking up the phone and speaking to people, you will relish the challenge of working towards business and personal targets.

You’ll need to be a team player but also be able to work alone, you must be a confident communicator with people at all levels. You’ll have great attention to detail and be able to keep calm under pressure and be quick to learn new things. Previous experience in financial services isn’t essential, but we’re keen to hear from you if you’ve had a sales-customer service and / or business development background. You may also be someone who takes an interest in personal finance and / or has obtained qualifications relevant to this role.

Experience:

  • Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
  • Sales: 1 year (preferred)
  • Financial services: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (required)
