Job Title: Sales Executive / BDM-Precision Conveying – Linear Motions

Location: Remote with regular travel around the UK including Northern Ireland

Salary: (£60k HIDE Depending On Experience) A rewarding package is on offer to suitably qualified/experienced candidates

Job type: Full Time, Monday-Thursday 8:30am-5pm, Friday 8:30am-4:30pm, 37 Hours A Week  Flexible approach to working hours is needed to be successful in this position.

Columbus McKinnon Corporation is a leading designer and manufacturer of intelligent motion solutions for material handling. The business supports a broad spectrum of industries with automation, conveyance, lifting and linear motion applications across the globe.

The role:

To support ongoing success, the organisation is looking to appoint an entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to work as a key member of the UK & Ireland Sales Team. The primary objective of this role is to achieve profitable revenue growth for a portfolio of precision conveyance and linear motion products and systems.

The Candidate: Candidates must be able to demonstrate the following qualifications/experience:

Qualifications / experience:

  • Relevant sales qualification (ISMM or CIM for e.g.) or a business-related degree
  • M/S Office suite and CRM management knowledge
  • Strong Maths and English language both written and spoken
  • Lifting industry/Engineering/Technical Sales background
  • of 3 years’ proven technically relevant sales experience

Additional qualifications / experience that would be an added advantage but are not essential include:

  • SAP experience
  • Power BI experience
  • Outstanding Excel skills in pivoting and presenting data, generating interactive graphs and charts, etc
  • LEEA (Lifting Industry) technical qualification (Diploma or above level)

  • Strong presentation, customer service, business and negotiation skills
  • Confidence, courage and ambition to grow the business
  • Strong operational/sales business acumen
  • CRM and intelligent marketing know-how to plan/strategize
  • Personal and professional integrity, trust and respect for others
  • Plans and organises effectively to meet target

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Maintenance of existing and stimulation of new clients, markets and routes to market, assisting in growth to agreed turnover and profitability targets.
  • Reports to Director
  • Close liaison with Sales, Purchasing & Engineering
  • Close liaison with Inter-Company
  • Works closely with the management team and departments above
  • Solely responsible for management and development of linear motion business
  • Product portfolio and for management of rail install/service projects
