The Role:

The scope of this role is to contribute to the overall success of our organisation in accordance with Migrant Help’s visions, values and objectives. The successful individual will support our national Asylum Service to support vulnerable asylum seekers across the UK. The successful post holder is required to support the Head of AIRE Business Support Centre with the day-today management of the Centre. The AIRE Business Support Team Leader will provide support to, and line manage, the Administrators within the Business Support Centre, supporting with training, coaching and overall management of the team.

Duties and responsibilities:

The AIRE Business Support Team Leader is an exciting, varied, and interesting role for a team leader with an eye for detail and a passion for supporting people, clients, and staff, supporting them to thrive.

Below is an outline of the main duties and responsibilities but this is by no means an exhaustive list and every day is different:

  • To line manage the Business Support Administrators, completing 1-1s, supervisions and regular briefings with the team, monitoring their productivity while ensuring they are supported and engaged
  • Motivate the team to work effectively and to a high standard, inspiring a positive attitude to client service and continuous improvement
  • Support with the successful and compliant delivery of KPIs linked to Business support activity including, but not limited to Complaints – KPI 11, Management Information and 2 Reporting – KPI 12, plus management of KPI dashboards and summary & compilation of the AIRE KPI reports
  • Deliver high levels of accuracy of recorded data and regular monitoring and audit of such, addressing and applying corrective actions as required in collaboration with the Head of Business Support and the Quality Manager
  • Develop effective relationships with all key stakeholders within the specified area ensuring Migrant Help is considered a key strategic, professional partner
  • Monitor the accuracy of work completed within the team to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures to provide the correct advice and guidance to all who require our support
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and contractual training requirements, adhere to Migrant Help Policies and Procedures, and ensure the Code of Conduct is maintained at all times.

Experience and skills:

  • Demonstrable competence in a people management role, at supervisory level
  • Demonstrable experience of dealing with complaints
  • Experience monitoring targets and team productivity
  • Experience conducting training and coaching with team members
  • Experience in providing advice and information within an organisation and working with people in sensitive and emotionally demanding situations
  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment
  • Good clear written and spoken English
  • Excellent IT skills with an indepth knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent communication skill both written and verbal
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Good inter-personal skills and the ability to relate to a wide range of people
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work empathetically with people facing transition and uncertainty
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative within an agreed framework
