Job Title: Capital Project Manager

Location: Harrogate

Salary: £39,493 to £41,496 per annum – Grade J.

Job type: Full Time, 12 Months Fixed Term Contract or Internal Secondment. 37 hours per week.

The Council’s Planned Works Team is looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated; customer focused Capital Works Project Manager to join the Planned Works Team to help us achieve our vision.

About the role:

As a Capital Works Project Manager you will be leading on the proactive development and management of significant property schemes and Non M&E projects with the inclusion of assisting in the delivery of decarbonisation of social housing.

The Role will be responsible to provide and implement procurement solutions to medium size projects within the Planned Works Team and contribute expertise to the preparation, review and implementation of all relevant Non M&E plans and projects.

An ideal candidate would have experience in the project management of significant housing schemes and public building projects. Have experience in housing compliance, contract management along with knowledge of procurement which would prove an advantage as a large part of this role will be to procure contracts with various services to deliver successful projects.

You will need to have the highest levels of customer care, have a cheerful and positive disposition with a can do attitude along with having the desire to work with a friendly and committed team of staff helping whenever required to ensure the team achieves its goals and commitment to client.

Candidate Requirements:

Experience of working in social housing would be an advantage however is not essential but customer care and being a team player with a positive can do attitude is essential in promoting the image of the Council and should be demonstrated at all times and forms an essential part of this role.

  • Relevant experience as per the personal specification is an essential criteria for this role.
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations in the construction industry is important to this role
  • Good knowledge of IT skills is essential for this role with the understanding of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
  • Good Communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role
