Salary: £10.17 to £11.17 per hour

Job Role:

Sir Josiah Mason Trust currently has vacancies for permanent full or part-time Care Assistants who can also act as a Shift Leads (day shifts) to work in its residential care home, Alexandra House in Solihull. We have a team of Care Assistants that share the shift lead role within the care home.

As the shift leader, your job is to delegate and participate in task completion and provide updates to the manager or on call manager as required. Tasks may include dealing with incidents, managing visitors to the building, taking telephone calls relating to residents’ care, ensuring comprehensive handovers are completed and leading on care activities for that shift.

Our main priority is to find people with the right values, behaviours, and attitudes that match our own! As a Care Assistant/Shift Lead you will put the residents’ care and wellbeing at the heart of everything you do. The Trust promotes independence, dignity and quality of life always in a person centred, caring and supportive environment.

We also have a pool of Bank Care Assistants that we offer work to from time to time to cover our care team’s holidays and sickness. This role gives you the flexibility to work the shifts that you want to fit in around your home life. We offer regular shifts to our bank staff but you have the choice of when you want to work.

Key things about you:

  • Some experience in long term care, assisted living or home care is beneficial but not essential, full training will be provided
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Good attendance and punctuality
  • Exhibit a caring and compassionate attitude while articulating true concern for people
  • An enhanced DBS check will be taken up for successful candidates
