HES Catering Service is a key business unit within our traded services portfolio, providing daily school meals in 60 schools in the borough. Besides operating commercially to generate income, the Service plays a pivotal role in supporting key outcomes relating to health and wellbeing for children and young people in the borough.

The role:

The Catering Nutritionist will be responsible for ensuring food provided by catering service meets dietary requirements and conform to all nutritional and food safety standards and legislations

Work with the Executive Training & Development Chef and Operations team together with the client to create meals and menus that suit a range of dietary needs, ensuring the special diets and allergies process is in place.

Knowledge of the School Food Standards is desirable but a thorough understanding of the legislated 14 Allergens and Natasha’s Law is essential.

Deliver various healthy eating initiatives and training on managing Allergens and best practises to deliver the service.

Provide advice and guidance to the catering team on latest research, guidelines and legislation relating to nutrition in order for service provision to be fully compliant.

As part of our renewed commercial strategy for the Catering Service, we are entering an exciting period of expansion.

This role is a great platform for a specialist to join a new management team tasked with growing the business and optimising customer satisfaction across our customer base.

You will need to have;

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is passionate and driven with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to establish strong rapport with colleagues and clients.

You must have experience in using systems/software to deliver the Nutrition and Allergen data to support various menus.

Along with a relevant degree or equivalent qualification, including BSc (Hons) in food and nutrition or related subject.

Evidence of continuous professional development

You must be a Registered Nutritionist (UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists)

Experience and understanding of the education services sector, will be advantageous for the successful candidate,
