Job Title: Chief Executive

Norton Housing & Support is a Leicester based charity and housing association with the aspiration of becoming the mental health provider of choice in Leicestershire.

We primarily provide supported housing services to people with mental health needs and women at risk of homelessness, but also offer community-based support services through our much-valued mental health drop in facilities.

We have an excellent track record of delivering high quality and effective services for the past 40 years. We enjoy an excellent reputation with people who use our services, partner organisations and funders alike.

We are embarking on an exciting growth agenda with our first purpose-built scheme currently under development.

The role;

A fantastic opportunity for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and inspiring individual to drive the organisation forward in an exciting period of growth, responding to the changing operating environment, whilst remaining true to our values and our residents-first ethos.

We are seeking an experienced charity, housing, or health/social care leader with a proven track record to develop and deliver impactful strategies whilst inspiring the people around you to succeed. You will have experience of organisational governance, dealing with HR issues, and driving a performance management culture.

You will be a persuasive influencer, able to build and tell compelling stories that lead to partnerships and income generation that deliver the sustainable support our service users need. You will have a good understanding of the housing, health and social landscape, and a confident ability to network and engage stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • To provide leadership to the organisation and to be responsible for its management and administration within the strategic, policy and accountability frameworks laid down by the Board of Trustees.
  • To develop new business opportunities and increase income to secure the future sustainability of the organisation, whilst ensuring it remains true to its values.
  • Together with the Chair, to enable the Board of Trustees to fulfil its duties and responsibilities for the proper governance of the organisation and to ensure that the Board receives timely advice and appropriate information on all relevant matters.
