Job Title: Children’s Residential Support Worker

Location: Newark (NG23)

Salary: £25,261 to £26,261 p.a (INCLUSIVE of sleep-in allowance)

About us: Total Care Matters is an established residential children’s home provider, with seven regional homes and looks after children in care between the ages of eight and seventeen.

The role:

We are excited to hear from you for our Children’s Residential Support Worker vacancy at our children’s home in Long Bennington, Newark.

  • You will become part of a small, caring team supporting young people providing high quality social care and support.
  • Your role will be diverse and each day could include taking the young people to school and appointments, as well as planning fun leisure activities, supporting their hobbies and annual holidays. There will also be some administration and paperwork, as well as cooking, cleaning and supporting young people to care for themselves.
  • Generally working to create a positive environment for each young person with particular reference to their safety, health and education.
  • The role is shift based and will include overnight sleep-ins, weekends and bank holidays.

The Candidate:

  • Be over 22 years old.
  • Have a full UK manual driving licence
  • Have a passion for, and ideally experience of, working with children.
  • You must have a desire to engage, guide and bring a positive influence in the lives of young people in our care
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Be willing to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure.
  • Be eligible to work in the UK.

Extra Info:

Your annual salary will be made of a base rate, dependent on qualifications and experience, plus payment for sleep-ins. In addition, a £1,000p.a Complex Care Allowance is also paid. The base rate salary scale is £20,000 to £21,000 p.a plus £62.64 per sleep-in (approximately £5,261 per year).
