Job Title: C&I Craftsperson

Location: Ratcliffe-on-Soar

Salary: £35,066 to £41,356 (Band R3) plus, if appropriate, disturbance allowance of £4,000+

Job type: Full Time. Unlimited hours.

At Ratcliffe, we play a key role in the transition to a low carbon future, generating electricity when there is insufficient renewable power and providing security of supply to the UK. Ratcliffe is the UK’s cleanest ever coal fired power station, fitted with SCR de-NOx technology and Flue Gas Desulphurisation.

We are currently recruiting for C&I Craftsperson’s at Ratcliffe-on-Soar Power Station, this is a tremendous opportunity for hands on C&I craftsperson with a practical attitude who will help support the 500MW energy generation units with your fault-finding diagnostic, repair and maintenance skills.

The role:

  • To provide Fault finding and diagnostic support
  • An adaptable and flexible approach to problems, and applying ingenuity to resolve them
  • Ownership of issues through to implementation of solutions.
  • Experience of control and instrumentation maintenance within a large-scale plant environment.

Who we are seeking

Essential:

  • Relevant training or experience with control and instrumentation engineering maintenance.
  • Safety training qualification
  • Be able to read and interpret electrical schematic / loop / P&ID drawings and OEM technical manuals to ensure correct operation and maintenance of control and instrumentation plant and apparatus.
  • Ability to use test equipment to diagnose faults on control systems and control loops.
  • Be able to undertake maintenance on field-based transmitters (pressure, flow,
  • Temperature etc) resistance thermometers & thermocouples having the ability to recognise faults and provide corrective solutions.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with good interpersonal skills.
  • Support colleagues, exchange ideas as well as constructive feedback.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of office applications e.g., word, excel

Desirable:

  • Experiences working within a Safety-First environment and actively contributing to safety initiatives.
  • The ability to use PLC software systems and other OEM bespoke software to aid fault diagnosis where applicable.
  • Familiar with and able to undertake maintenance of environmental and process instrumentation whilst maintaining a level of environmental knowledge that supports the maintenance requirements.
  • Supporting and mentoring trainees and other junior members of staff (i.e., apprentices) to develop future talent.
  • Pro-Active self-driven attitude
