Salary: £35,643 plus £2,870 London weighting allowance

The Role:

We are looking for a Community Liaison Coordinator to join our vibrant and committed Specialised Services team, on a 12 Month fixed term contract, with the potential for this to be extended or made permanent.

The role is to contribute to the overall success of our organisation in accordance with Migrant Help’s visions, values and objectives. The post-holder is expected to work within our specialised services team to develop and maintain partnerships with private, public and voluntary sector organisations within London and the surrounding area. This involves working with local communities to meet the needs of asylum seekers and lead on community co-ordination of VCS services and activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholder, community organisations and voluntary sector agencies, within the Asylum Seekers and Refugee sector, to establish referral protocols, commissioning arrangements and partnership working agreements to support the effective delivery of the AIRE contract and to promote Migrant Help provision as a complimentary part of the wider support community
  • Map regional provision of services (pastoral, health, art, fitness activities etc.) and update the Directory of Local Services to support clients within London and surrounding areas
  • Work with local partners and community groups to co-ordinate the wider VCS offer on site and plan a varied activity program for the clients housed in London and surrounding areas
  • Work in partnership with the AIRE Outreach team to ensure our most vulnerable clients are well supported
  • To build on working relationships with statutory sector providers such as DWP, JCP, housing and education in order to map integration pathways and facilitate effective move-on
  • Provide information and training to third sector / community groups to enable them to be proactive in their assistance of asylum seekers/ refused asylum seekers.
  • Provide monthly impact assessment reports, providing written updates on activity, relationship management (new relationships / contacts made, concerns or issues within existing relationships etc.), highlight potential case studies, provide information on activities we have facilitated and been involved with, to highlight areas of good practice and where there are opportunities for improvements and evidencing the positive impact we are making.
  • Keep up to date with issues affecting asylum seekers, refugees, social and community cohesion, locally, regionally and nationally

What else to expect:

  • Our team operates Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.30am and 5.30pm
  • This role is a home-based role; however, travel may be needed depending on business need.

  • Valid passport eg. 10 year full British passport, EU or non-EU Passport with indefinite leave to remain
  • UK address history for the previous 5 years
