Location: East Suffolk Council,  Melton (IP12 1RT) or Lowestoft (NR33 0EQ)

Salary: £25,419 – £31,895 per annum

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Hours: 37 Hours per week

We currently have an exciting new opportunity to join the East Suffolk Council as a Contract and Supply Specialist (ESS)

East Suffolk Council is launching a new local authority trading company, East Suffolk Services (ESS) that will build a platform for dynamic and successful delivery for the future. Providing efficient and effective waste collection, together with high standard maintenance of public spaces, this company is an integral part of the council’s long-term strategy to support growth of the local economy, exceed expectations of residents and businesses and address the climate emergency.

About the role:

This is a challenging, newly created role that will support the ESS and be part of the Procurement Team at East Suffolk Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing legally compliant procurement processes to ensure that the organisation has the correct supplier arrangements in place to operate.

Working with ESS you will create an efficient plan for the future to deliver efficient and effective procurement activity that is attractive to the market and ensures anticipated value is delivered. By designing and managing a supplier framework you will be able to create an effective supply chain to ESS.

What you will need:

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent or have substantive experience in a relevant field. You will need to demonstrate experience in managing projects, building effective relationships and be successful in change management. As a good team player with efficient communication and organisational skills you will work with key stakeholders across East Suffolk Services and East Suffolk Council to deliver excellent procurement services.
