Job Title: Contracts Supervisor (Planned Works)

Location: Harrogate

Salary: £30,151 to £32,020 per annum – Grade G.

Job type: Full Time, Permanent (37 hours per week). The Council operates a flexible working policy and there is opportunity for some hybrid working subject to approval.

The Councils Planned Works Team is a successful and growing team, which carries out a number of planned works projects throughout its social housing and public buildings stock to ensure that both domestic and commercial buildings have continuous maintenance to ensure that they are fully maintained and fit for the future.

The Council’s Planned Works Team is looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated; customer focused Contract Supervisor to join the Planned Works Team to help us achieve our vision.

About the role:

As a Planned Works Contract Supervisor you will be managing cyclical planned maintenance programmes to ensure that they are delivered successfully. Be able to demonstrate that you are competent in being able to provide skills in the management of contracts and contractors and have a background in general property maintenance which is bias in a domestic environment.

An ideal candidate would have experience in the performance management of general property maintenance with a possible domestic bias. Have experience in housing compliance, contract management along with some basic knowledge of procurement would prove an advantage however is not essential for the day to day operation of this role.

You will need to have the highest levels of customer care and have a cheerful and positive disposition along with having the desire to work with a friendly and committed team of staff helping whenever required to ensure the team achieves its goals and commitment to client.

Candidate Requirements:

Experience of working in social housing would be an advantage however is not essential but customer care and being a team player with a positive can do attitude is essential in promoting the image of the Council and should be demonstrated at all times and forms an essential part of this role.

  • Relevant experience as per the personal specification is an essential criteria for this role.
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations in the construction industry is important to this role.
  • Good knowledge of IT skills is essential for this role with the understanding of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
  • Good Communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
