Job Title: Cover Supervisor (With Administrative Responsibilities)

Location: Plumstead, South East

Salary: £24,170 per annum (Scale 4)

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Working Hours: 35 hours per week, (7am to 3pm Monday to Friday) 39 weeks per year (Term time only plus one week)

About the Role:

In addition to carrying out the role of Cover Supervisor where you will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, guiding and instructing students in the work that has been left by the department or class teacher, you will also have an administrative role.

You will need to be highly organised, have attention to detail and be an excellent administrator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for picking up messages from the staff absence line in the early morning and organising and planning the daily cover rota
  • You will need to be able to keep accurate records, as you will record and sign off invoices from agencies
  • You will be responsible for monitoring levels of student engagement with and completion of cover work

About you:

  • To be successful you will need to be qualified to at least Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) including level 2 qualifications in English and Maths
  • A high level of computer literacy including the use of spreadsheets and information management systems is essential
  • Experience of using Bromcom is desirable
  • Experience in managing young people, preferably in a school environment, maintaining high standards and expectations of behaviour and discipline is also desirable
