Job Title: Credit Controller

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 p/a depending on experience

Established in the early 1970’s as a family run concern which specialised in hiring Compressors and Air Tools to construction and utility companies. Today we now supply a wide range of non-mechanical plant, lifting equipment and safety equipment to a diverse customer base throughout the UK.
The Role:
- Supervise & support team of sales ledger staff
- Oversee the day to day running of the sales ledger office
- Review & open new customer credit accounts and setting an appropriate credit limit
- Authorise orders for companies who are over credit limit
- Continuously review current credit accounts – altering credit limits if necessary
- Monthly debtor’s reports
- Administration/liquidation account stop and advising depot to collect plant
- Monitor particular credit accounts of concern
Duties and responsibilities:
- Regular reporting on credit accounts via aged debtors, credit agencies & accounts over their credit limit
- Regular credit checks and review of accounts requested by sales ledger staff
- Maintain, chase for payment and assist in approval of invoices for own ledger of aged debt customers
- Request payment from customers who have overdue accounts and record replies on manual ledger
- Send out pre-legal / overdue emails and letters to customers that have exceeded payment terms
- Prepare documentation and collate a history of pre-legal communications for legal folder
- Writing off refunds/ late payment fees from accounts
