Job Title: Customer Engagement Officer

Location: Leeds

Salary: £27,501 plus Essential Car User Allowance based on the emissions of vehicle

Job Type: Permanent, Full time

Leeds Federated is a housing association with around 4,300 properties across Leeds, Wakefield and North Yorkshire. Our mission is to enable the maximum number of people to access and live sustainably in good value, affordable housing.

About the role:

This is a great time to join Leeds Federated and contribute to our approach to ensuring the customer voice influences our work at all levels and help develop our new online engagement platform.

You will be involved in co-ordinating and developing customer scrutiny and local engagement, working collaboratively with colleagues and customers to ensure that customers’ experiences influence how we deliver services.

You will create opportunities for customers who want to get more actively involved with the business, supporting and encouraging individual customers to collaborate with staff in shaping service improvements. You will work with our customers to carry out scrutiny activities and review services from the perspective of the customer in both online and face to face settings.

You will play a key role in supporting Neighbourhood Officers and area teams to engage with customers where they live, helping them to take forward activities and initiatives that build good neighbour relations and help make neighbourhoods better places to live.

About you:

A curious mind is essential along with knowledge, experience, or understanding of participatory methods of involvement and engagement, strong communication skills (both verbal and written), and the ability to use social media to consult and engage.

You will have a genuine passion to work with customers and staff as equals drawing on the principles of an asset-based approach and strengths thinking, helping to build respect and trust. We have recently adopted the National Housing Federation Together with Tenants Charter and you will support a customer panel to help monitor our commitments.
