About the role:

A rare opportunity has arisen to take over the role of Deputy General Manager at Ashdown Park Hotel & Country Club to assist the General Manager in the development of the team to maintain the hotel’s reputation as one of the finest 4 Red Star hotels in the UK.

The purpose of this role is to support and represent the General Manager in all areas of the function, with a primary focus on the day-to-day operation and guest service of this luxury country house property with multiple Food & Beverage outlets, including an award-winning Fine Dining Restaurant, stylish Brasserie, Lounges & Cocktail Bar, Conference & Banqueting suites, as well as a Country Club, Spa and Golf Course. As Deputy Manager you will a have a keen eye for detail ensuring the highest standards of presentation and service at all times so we achieve a minimum 85% score on our guest satisfaction feedback.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deputise for the GM in their absence
  • Ensure the smooth running of the operation
  • Forward planning of the operation in all areas of the business
  • Compilation of the Duty Management rota, ensuring sufficient management cover to suit the needs of the business
  • H&S management
  • Supportive leadership of direct reports
  • Project management as requested by the General Manager
  • Third party contract management

The ideal candidate:

  • Proven experience of a senior management role within a similar size luxury hotel.
  • A desire to always offer the highest levels of hospitality and service to our guests.
  • Be a confident and motivational leader.
  • Be well organised and an excellent communicator.
  • Have knowledge of stock taking and financial awareness.
  • Have the ability to understand and foresee the needs of the hotel as a whole, be able to prioritise and problem solve.
  • Remain calm under pressure and have a proactive approach.
