Job Title: Despatch / Assembly Operative

Location: Wokingham (Berkshire)

Salary: £20-23K

Job type: Full Time

The Despatch / Assembly Operative is responsible for the assembly of electronic connectors and other components and inspection of these to ensure they meet required standards. Along with responsibility for Goods Inwards, Picking, Packing and Despatch.

Main Duties & Accountabilities:

  • Assembly of electronic connectors and other components using the appropriate tools and techniques, in accordance with the training provided.
  • Inspection of electronic connectors and other components at each stage of the assembly process to ensure they meet the required standards
  • Goods Inwards – checking that incoming goods are correct against relevant documentations i.e. GRNs, Reject Notes, Packing Lists, etc. and receiving of goods onto the Company computer system.
  • Picking – identifying goods and checking them against the picking list/note.
  • Packing – ensuring that the correct goods in the correct quantities are packed.
  • Despatch – ensuring that goods are sent to the correct customer in accordance with delivery promise.
  • Export Shipping – using the most appropriate shipping method and ensuring that all export documentation is completed as required.
  • Booking in/out of stock and stock taking duties as and when required.
  • Stock relocations including stock transfers, quantity adjustments, re-labelling.
  • Stock count including cycle counting, perpetual inventory, variance checking.
  • Checking picks to ensure correct lot coding, bar code labelling, documents, shipping instructions, etc.
  • Ensuring quality standards are maintained at all times in accordance with the Company QMS procedures.
  • Promptly notifying the Manager of any quality or other problems are identified.
  • Ensuring that all activities/tasks are carried out in accordance with the Company Health and Safety Policy.
  • Ensuring timely and thorough completion of documentation.

Qualifications/Experience Required

  • Computer literate.
  • Knowledge and understanding of electronic products and appropriate warehouse processes.
  • Understanding of quality standards and the need to adhere to these.
  • Counter Balance Forklift Licence desirable
