About the role:
You will be working alongside the Managing Director to streamline our development strategy and manage the pipeline in order to achieve our company’s goal to deliver a minimum of 40 units by 2024.
About you:
You will be an experienced Development Manager with strong commercial acumen and proven competencies in a variety of project delivery models and asset types.
You must have a proven ability to generate new income and capital receipt opportunities, as well as the ability to manage expenditure whilst delivering projects on time and within budget.
The role will require you to supervise in-house staff, as well as manage external providers of professional services who support the development management team.
Essential:
- Ability to engage, coach and motivate teams and set clear targets and expectations
- Experience of successfully managing performance and providing clear constructive feedback
- Experience of successfully implementing plans and projects on time and on budget
- Ability to work collaboratively both with in-house resources and with external professionals
- Ability to design development programmes both pre-, during and post-construction, as well as manage the same.
- Experience in negotiating development agreements, joint venture agreements, Heads of Terms for property acquisitions and disposals, instructing and monitoring external agents to acquire or dispose of surplus land and property assets, compulsory purchase. Sound commercial and financial acumen.
- Previous asset/estate management experience in commercial surveying including valuations, acquisitions, disposals and regeneration projects.
- Working knowledge of IT systems, including MS Office, appraisals, programmes, data bases & relevant software.
- Experience developing and implementing asset management policy and strategy.
- Experience in managing and monitoring budgets.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Member or Fellow of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS or
- FRICS) and have several years post qualification experience.
- Hold a relevant property related degree (RICS Approved) or equivalent professional property qualification.
