Job Title: Digital Engagement Officer

Location: Romford, Essex – Remote working; some requirement to travel to Havering for meetings

Salary: £36,378-£40,566 per annum

Havering Education Services (HES) is the council’s commercial brand of support services to education establishments and a leading provider of services and training to schools in the East of England. Our brand is a federation of distinct and integrated business units spread across the Council’s directorates. Our offer to schools and settings is extensive and wide ranging.

About the role:

Based within our Commercial Business Unit, reporting into the Marketing and Communications Manager, the post holder will act as the ‘Digital Marketing Lead’ and help drive forward and improve engagement and impact with service users and customers across a diverse range of digital channels and platforms. The role is responsible for managing all of our digital touch points and online platforms in order to optimise customer journeys and engagement. The role will help drive forward strategic and innovative marketing activities and impact across our portfolio of services.

About you:

  • We are looking for a passionate, experienced and innovative digital marketer to maximise our impact through our digital channels.
  • You should have a proven track record, backed up by a digital portfolio of works/projects, demonstrating your effectiveness and impact in current or previous work settings in achieving agreed organisational objectives.
  • You should be highly skilled and experienced in digital marketing and communications, to include content development and delivery across website, email, social media, Google Ad Words, SEO and Google Analytics.
  • You should be an effective collaborator and a team-oriented individual and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to manage complex and varied stakeholder relationships effectively and simultaneously to achieve project outcomes is a pre-requisite for this position.
  • Our ideal candidate is someone who constantly seeks improvement, both in themselves and in their team; is willing to test and learn from new approaches and is intellectually curious; focuses on solutions and seeks to make a positive difference.
  • Experience and understanding of the education services market and knowledge of how to effectively engage with schools and settings will be advantageous for the successful candidate.
