The Role:

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for someone to join the newly formed Curriculum and Education Development Academy at Lancaster University.

In the role of Educational Developer you will provide expertise, leadership and high-quality professional development to staff across Lancaster’s global community of educators. You will have an important role in shaping the development and support for colleagues in a variety of roles, including academic staff, associate lecturers and professional services colleagues with learning support roles and responsibilities.

You will work closely with the wider team to devise and implement a range of impactful professional development interventions that will support our embedding of the PSF 2023 and contribute to the University’s strategic education priorities. Initially, this includes adopting leadership of the Associate Teacher Programme, one of Lancaster’s accredited recognition programmes.

As well as providing leadership in the design and delivery of accredited programmes, you will draw on your repertoire of organisational and teaching development approaches for a range of assignments to enhance our institutional culture of continuous professional development, support staff career progression in teaching, and develop approaches for the cultivation and recognition of educational excellence.

Drawing on your knowledge of educational practice and contemporary debates in higher education you will make key contributions to the design and implementation of guidance, workshops and curriculum development consultancy. In particular, you will take a lead on advancing our approaches to embedding and modelling EDI considerations in the CED Academy’s provision.

You will be able to demonstrate effectiveness in developing university staff and programme teams, and the ability to build rapport with the wider education community, create and leverage networks, and foster dialogue with colleagues at different levels of the organisation.
