Job Title: Electric Hoist Build Technician

Location: Birmingham, UK

Salary: Depending On Experience

Job type: Full Time, Monday-Thursday 8:15am-5:15pm, Friday 8:15am-1pm, 38.75 Hours A Week

The role:

To provide technical support in the customisation of base products, mainly electric chain hoists, crane -related products and accessories together with support to warehouse and shipping functions.

The Candidate:

  • Experience working with overhead cranes and hoists
  • Experience with explosion protected electrical equipment would be an added advantage
  • Min. 2 years’ experience working in a similar manufacturing environment
  • Recognised electrical and/or mechanical qualification (preferably gained via a time served apprenticeship) would be an added advantage
  • FLT Licence would be an added advantage
  • I.S. competencies in M/S Office suite
  • Good grasp of English language (verbal & written)
  • Good general fitness
  • Willingness to undertake additional training as required

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Is responsible for assigned technical and operational tasks/duties.
  • Is a member of a small team carrying out a range of electrical/mechanical customisation tasks on base units (chain hoists) and operational/warehouse support tasks as required
  • Once fully trained, completes inspections and repairs (electrical / mechanical) on hoists in cases where product has arrived damaged and/or incorrect or are returned under warranty
  • Picks and packs orders on receipt of issued pick paperwork
  • Prepares despatch and certification documentation when required
  • Oversees each day’s consignment collections by courier including booking jobs off in the courier’s system
  • Assists with Goods in, with Quality and with Stock Control tasks
  • Is a fully trained fire warden and first aider and actively assists with preventative health and safety activities on site
  • Adherence to all legal requirements, to the Company Quality and Environmental Management Systems (QMS/EMS), the H & S policy and its procedures and actively participates in continuous health and safety compliance / improvement activities
  • Other ad-hoc duties commensurate with the grade of the role
