The Role:

GRE are currently looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team, and become part of this diverse, young, growing company at an exciting time.

The successful candidate will be an all-round, hands-on, practically minded Electrical Engineer, who relishes the opportunity to cover a variety of jobs and challenges. You will be working with globally recognised companies and will be changing the world with New Technological advancements.

The successful candidate will join our Engineering team, working in a mixed office / factory environment, and will interface with all areas of GRE’s business. You will have an interest in “getting stuck in” and will enjoy (rather than be intimidated by) the variety that the role can offer. The role will suit an electrical engineer with practical hands-on experience, with a proven record of design.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Detailed electrical design work & drawings using a variety of Engineering platforms.
  • Selection of components suitable for the application such as power supplies, breakers, contactors, and cables etc.
  • Compilation and management of electrical BoM’s suitable for each project.
  • Supporting documentation such as manuals, test procedures and panel layouts.
  • Preparing and maintaining of technical construction file applicable to each application.
  • Carrying out engineering changes and amendments to assist in manufacture.
  • Provide technical support to clients.
  • Attend meetings with client, virtually and in-person.

The role can involve regular travelling to Customers / Suppliers in the UK and abroad.

Essential Skills and Requirements:

  • Highly proficient in 2D Electrical CAD (preferably EPLAN, otherwise PC Schematic, AutoCAD Electrical, Solidworks Electrical).
  • High level of IT literacy including, but not limited to, MS Office, Email, Internet, Databases etc.
  • Able to communicate confidently and effectively with colleagues and customers alike.
  • A solid understanding of Engineering Quality Procedures.
  • Electrical control circuit design for industrial processes.
  • Knowledge of control panel layouts.
  • Appreciation of logic for industrial control systems and safety circuits.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing procedures and processes.
  • Knowledge of up-to-date wiring legislation.

Desired Skills and Requirements:

  • Experience of working with PLC systems
  • Some experience in a manufacturing engineering company or environment
  • A natural inclination to solve engineering problems
  • Full UK Drivers licence
