Main Purpose of the Role:

  • Ensure the EHS focus to the Company, and to work with the teams to improve the company’s current environment, health, and safety systems, and to bring improvement and change. You will be responsible for the management and implementation of our Policies.
  • The EHS Advisor has overall responsibility for EHS awareness for all aspects of the Company’s operation.
  • Responsibility for the preparation and delivery of environmental data and advise the business on policy development.
  • To ensure that all internal and external audits conditions to a professional level – Compile, monitor and action all prep questionnaire and follow up documentation -To work with the compliance team to ensure the full lifecycle of the audit processes in line to the Company requirements.
  • Provide competent H&S direction to the organisation by delivering a high-quality service to all levels of the business and providing our clients with assurance on the compliance of our H&S standards, abilities to abide to legislation and best practices.
  • Maintain and develop strong level of communication with other departments within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • To promote company values in all dealings with all stakeholders.
  • Developing and maintaining up to date policies and procedures, which ensure that the organisation is up to date and continually developing its EHS strategy.
  • To support the development of a strong Health and Safety focused culture and promote good safety behaviours.
  • Ensure that the organisation is compliant to all external auditing requirements, including but not limited to ISO’s, PCI plus FSC etc.
  • To develop the environmental awareness requirement and provided data for various areas of the business and auditors.
  • Promote good safety and environmental behaviours throughout the organisations.
  • Carry out risk assessments and consider how risks could be reduced.
  • Outline safe operational procedures which identify and consider all relevant hazards.
  • Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
  • Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation.
  • Prepare health & safety and environmental strategies to develop internal policy.
  • Lead in-house training with managers and employees about environmental, health and safety issues and risks.
  • Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements.
  • Record incidents and accidents and produce statistics for managers.
  • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Environmental Governance plus Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer’s industry.
  • Attend Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) seminars and read professional journals.
  • Produce management reports.
  • Manage and organise the safe disposal of hazardous substances.
  • Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g., fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery, and occupational diseases.
  • Ensuring that equipment is installed correctly and safely.
  • Identifying potential hazards
