Job Title: Estimating/Buying Assistant

About the role:

You will be Responsible for requesting quotes from suppliers, compiling estimates, placing purchase orders at pre-negotiated prices and delivery times, progressing purchase orders.

Key Duties:

  • Work with the Corintech Hong Kong and UK estimating teams to compile estimates for custom jobs
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery, terms and any other special requirements with suppliers either via telephone, email or Teams
  • Purchase components, materials and other items against requirements as defined by stock requirements profile, purchase request forms and authorised capital requisitions etc.
  • Ensure satisfactory stock levels are maintained, scheduling and re-scheduling orders as necessary and to progress purchase orders to ensure parts are delivered on the acknowledged date
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in relationships with both other staff and suppliers at all times
  • Take part in the annual stock check
  • Ensure a positive contribution to the team effort at all times
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner at all times, adhering to policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety
  • When required, support other areas of the business when and where the need arises based on the direction of the Purchasing Supervisor

About you:

  • Literate and numerate, with a good understanding of written and spoken English
  • Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal
  • Computer literate
  • Well organised, has the ability to multitask and remains calm when under pressure
  • Self-motivated and can work with minimal supervision
  • Willing to undertake any training relevant to the role
