Job Title: Experienced Construction Estimator

Location: Wigan

Salary: £40K – £50K (plus negotiable car allowance)

Job type: Full Time position to commence asap. 45 hrs per week Monday to Friday typically worked between 08.00am – 5.30pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break (these hours are flexible if required)

  • Specialist and Bespoke (our Specialist and Bespoke service involves the Design and Manufacture of fitted and loose Joinery products).

The role:

We are looking to add to our busy Commercial Team by way of recruiting an Experienced Estimator. You will ideally have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role, a sound knowledge of Construction/ Interiors sector, working on projects up to £5M+.

The Candidate:

  • The ideal candidate will be a hard-working individual with excellent communication skills.
  • The Estimating role is client and customer facing so a confident attitude is required as there may be times presentations are required.
  • Amspec work with estimating software and knowledge of Evaluate or something similar would be beneficial but full training will be given.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

The successful candidate’s role will include producing high quality, accurate estimates, presented in a legible, analytical and logical format. You will also be responsible for processing tenders, reviewing tenders within the team prior to submission, identifying risks, acquiring prices from our pool of sub-contractors, preparing accurate take offs.

Further duties in your role will consist of;

  • Manage all aspects of Bid Preparation, Preparation of Enquiries to Sub-Contractors, Cost Comparisons, Bid Strategies, a deep understanding of our sector.
  • Preparation of monthly valuations, variation accounts with Sub-Contractors and Clients, settlement of final accounts.
  • Monitoring profit and loss (producing regular reports to monitor the progress of a Contract and factors likely to affect the profitability)
  • Organising and attending site visits with Clients and Sub-contractors
  • Client liaison (attend Client progress meetings to keep abreast of any commercial
  • issues)
  • Ability to work on multiple tenders in a busy environment
  • Adaptable and able to quickly learn our Software – Eque2 / Evaluate
  • MS Project proficient would be an advantage
