Job Title: Finance Officer

Salary: £32,000 per annum

Job Type: Full Time, (1 Year FTC)

SW9 Community Housing is a resident-led social housing charity responsible for the delivery of housing management and maintenance services for around 1,800 homes and several commercial and community buildings in Stockwell/Brixton on behalf of a G15 Housing Association, Sovereign Network Group. Being a community-based organisation, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Customer Services Officer, with a focus on service delivery and a people-centre approach. With a turnover of £11m, and rising, and in excess of £150million of inward investment provided by Network Homes over the last 10 years we have ambitious plans for the future, and we want a like-minded visionary to join us on this journey.

About the role:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Finance Officer to join our team on a 1-year fixed term contract.

The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing Accounts Payable (AP) and supporting the finance function of the Organisation. The role will report to the Finance manager and assist the Finance Manager in providing a complete finance transaction service to SW9 staff and third parties including suppliers and auditors.

Education

  • Educated to A Level Standard or equivalent
  • Part qualified AAT/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent..

Knowledge and skills

  • Finance experience with the ability to scrutinise accounts
  • Ability to understand financial procedures and explain them.
  • A solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Confident in a busy office and able to work as part of a team
  • Ability to meet deadline and adhere to month-end timetable.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills across a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with non-Finance staff.
  • Analytical, with the ability to quickly solve problems through practical and innovative means.
  • Excellent customer focus and a genuine desire to achieve excellence in all areas of responsibility.
  • Ability to respond to queries promptly.
  • Proficient in MS Office software including Word and an excellent user of Excel.
  • Willing to learn

Experience

  • Knowledge of SUN Accounting, P2P (Procure to pay), Northgate Housing Systems
  • Range of experience in the use of housing and finance systems.
  • Experience in dealing with auditors is advantageous
