Job Title: Finance Team Leader

Location: Dover (Hybrid)

Salary: £31,059 per annum

Job type: Permanent, Full time, 35 hours a week.

Closing Date: 22 December 2023

We are currently looking for a Finance Team Leader to join our dynamic and supportive Finance team, on a Permanent Contract.

The successful candidate will be innovative and pro-active, have demonstrable experience implementing new processes within a team, and be passionate about protecting our vulnerable clients.

The focus of this role is to be responsible for supporting the work of the Transactional Team and assisting the Finance manager. The post holder will assist with implementing new software and processes to streamline efficiencies within the team. They will demonstrate innovation to drive improvement throughout the team. They will develop strong relations with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely support. They will be able to reprioritize as required to provide a high level of service to all stakeholders.

As the Finance Team Leader your duties would include:

  • Ensure sales ledger and purchase is kept up to date with accurate information
  • Ensure Migrant Help policies and operating procedures are followed
  • Assist with driving continuous development and efficiencies within the transactional team, supporting with the communication and implementation of new initiatives
  • Maintain a functional chart of accounts which meets requirement for senior management team reporting, ensuring all policies and procedures are followed
  • Ensure bank reconciliations are performed accurately and timely, offering support where appropriate
  • Support both internal and external shareholder with queries that arise, offering a high level of service and effective communication
  • Liaise with the payroll processor to ensure the appropriate information is accurately submitted to complete the monthly salary payments in a timely manner
  • Develop cash control systems to meet the requirements of MH

The experience and skills you need:

  • Experience of working to tight timescales and consistently meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrable experience of communicating effectively with non-finance stakeholders and constructively challenge and influence performance
  • Ability to take the lead and explain solutions to others
  • Forward thinking and problem-solving skills
