Job Title: Financial Accountant

Location: Liverpool

Salary: £37,000 – £43,000 depending on experience.

Job type: Full-time, Flexible/Hybrid working.

The Candidate:

We are seeking a qualified financial accountant who has experience in preparing charity accounts and is able to co-ordinate the external audit.

The position requires someone who is a people person, who is organised, has excellent communication skills, high attention to detail and the ability to manage and mentor a small team.

The Role:

It is an exciting time to join Claire House, as we are creating a new finance team. We are currently looking for a Financial Accountant, which can be based on the Wirral or Liverpool Site.

The post holder will have responsibility for annual statements, external audit, tax advice, treasury strategy and financial controls. The main purpose of the role will be to support the Director of Finance and Operations in ensuring Group compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements for Claire House and Claire House Retail Ltd. You will also be Providing Treasury Management and Tax advice to the Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all balance sheets are reconciled and have supporting evidence including all fixed assets
  • Manage daily, monthly, annual cashflows and advise on how to invest any surplus funds
  • Manage a small finance team and provide objectives, support development needs and manage performance
  • Prepare the annual financial statements and manage the external audit process
  • Manage financial timetable taking into consideration board dates, month end deadlines, payroll submission dates, tax and vat deadlines ensuring the team hit all deadlines
  • Set up audit reports to actively review and monitor adherence to financial controls
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance Business Partner to review financial systems and improve automation of tasks and processes
