Job Title: Financial Controller

Location: Newbury

Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 per annum

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

Netteam tX Ltd is a well-established provider of managed IT services. Founded in 2003 it employs 35 staff across the UK; most are based at its headquarters in Newbury. With a current turnover of £3 million; the business has ambitious plans for further growth over the next five years and is in a strong financial position to achieve that. The founders still own the business and lead its day-to-day operations.

About the role:

Based in the Newbury office, the financial controller is a pivotal role within the company and senior management team and will be key to the company being able to achieve its growth plans.

Reporting to the two founders, with a dotted line to an external (outsourced) Finance Director working with the business.

Key Duties:

  • Direct line management of the other two members of the finance team;
  • Responsible for all day-to-day accounting and operations;
  • Responsible for provision of management information and cash forecasting;
  • Liaison with external accountants and tax advisors and management of year end statutory accounting and corporation tax return process;
  • Responsible for monthly payroll;
  • Preparation and timely submission of VAT returns;
  • Ad hoc analysis, projects and commercial input as required.

About you:

  • Have the credibility and gravitas to deal with the founders and to build effective working relationships with other parts of the business;
  • Proactive approach to dealing with day to day matters and in proposing and implementing changes to finance processes, systems and reporting where appropriate;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Happy to roll sleeves up and get involved but also able to take a step back and think commercially;
  • Able to successfully manage a small team including where staff are flexibly working;
  • Qualified accounting professional;
  • Specific industry sector experience is not required. Experience outside of practice would probably be preferred, but this may not be an obstacle for an exceptional candidate.
