Job Title: Financial Controller

Salary: Competitive

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

A Financial Controller works within a Finance Office supporting the Finance team with month end routines, including balance sheet postings and reconciliations, intercompany postings and preparing internal consolidation accounts. You will also be responsible for Cashflow forecasting, Overhead and subsidiary budgets and forecasts. As well as compliance for taxes such as VAT, WHT and Corporation Tax. As the company grows, look for improvements to accounting systems, processes and procedures.

The Candidate:

  • Competent in Microsoft Office, predominantly MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook
  • Experience in SAGE 200
  • Desirable (part)qualification in Accountancy (CIMA or ACCA)
  • Strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Excellent organisational skills to balance and prioritise forecasted pipeline of works
  • Strong communication, literacy and numeracy levels
  • Full UK driving Licence
  • Right to Work in the UK

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible to Finance Manager/ Finance Director
  • Intercompany accounting, liaising with CG foreign branches to agree balances and submit reporting.
  • Prepare intercompany reconciliations with parent company.
  • Set up processes with new foreign branches / projects to assist with statutory reporting requirements.
  • Liaise with external accountancy firm for support with foreign projects and requirements
  • Journal Preparation including fixed assets, prepayments and accruals.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Support the month end process
  • Produce reports of overhead costs for budget holders
  • Assist Finance Manager to produce required Month End reporting to deadlines.
  • Produce VAT reconciliations for submission.
  • Submit statutory reporting to relevant authorities
  • Audit processes to ensure compliance.
  • Produce reports of overhead costs for budget holders
  • Support quarterly budget and forecasting with departments
  • Provide reports and presenting key information to key stakeholders as required
  • Support continuous improvement objectives with efficiencies and synergies
