Job Title: Food Service Manager

Salary: £27,000 per annum

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time, 37.5hrs and 37.5 contract.

Our team prepare delicious meals using excellent quality of nutritious fresh food for our colleagues, our Residents and their families. Our 60 seats cover Café is located within the John Morden Centre, which is a vibrant space where people meet, eat, take part to fun events, develop and enjoy a variety of interesting hobbies. We also provide our Care Home Residents with a personalised service that caters for a variety of dietary needs ensuring that our Residents have access to a healthy and balanced diet all year round.

About the Role:

To ensure that the Food and Beverage Service and Events across Morden College sites is of the highest standard in terms of customer service and quality, with exceptional attention to detail and professionalism to enhance the dining experience.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • To deliver a superior food and beverage service that ensures *customer delight by promoting high levels of hospitality and an excellent dining experience
  • To lead by setting a personal example
  • To organise, co-ordinate and supervise the FOH team, ensuring maximum efficiency, including scheduling of staff for shifts and forecasting rotas, inhouse training new and current employees on proper customer service practises
  • To liaise with colleagues, residents and event organisers as appropriate, to collect, collate and share information and in every respect to communicate in a fashion that allows for the successful delivery of food services and events
  • To manage food and beverage provision for meetings, training and all events
  • To work closely with the Catering Manager, Chef Supervisor, Lead Bartender and colleagues across all departments in all aspects of the Hospitality service
  • To ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and with Morden College policies, procedures and standards, and to maintain appropriate records
  • To process time sheets, annual leave, appraisals and invoices, and to order and secure stock and maintain a robust stock-control system
  • To organise for the transport of staff and goods as appropriate
  • To maintain relevant and appropriate cleaning schedules for the postholder’s areas of responsibility and ensure they are adhered to and completed
  • To develop and maintain documented Standards Manuals for food services and for events
  • To support and promote any service delivery programme the College may adopt
