Job Title: Head Chef

Location: Ormskirk

Salary: Competitive and dependent upon experience

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time. 45 hours per week including weekends and bank holidays.

Job Role and Summary:

We are looking for a passionate, reliable individual to join the team as the Head Chef. You will be leading the team and assisting the Food and Beverage Manager to deliver outstanding back to back services aimed to ensure every guests experience is meaningful and enjoyable.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manager the day-to-day operations of the kitchen to achieve the monthly budgets and product quality.
  • Ensure current knowledge for all dietary and allergen requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver with the F&B manager a successful events menu delivered to a high standard.
  • Achieve and maintain 80% NPS score amongst member and customer feedback.
  • Effectively manager staff levels and salary v turnover to ensure GP is maintained.
  • Ensure full implementation of the company brand standards achieving 80% brand standards audit score.
  • Recruit, train and develop all kitchen team using the HH Academy offered by our partners.
  • Maintain a high presence within the kitchen and events when required.
  • Ensure GP and brand standards within the kitchen is maintained at all times.
  • Ensure marketing materials are on brand at all times as per the company CI manuals.
  • Maintain high standards of Health and Safety and food hygiene at all times.
  • Attend all scheduled shifts on time and as per the company’s employee handbook.
  • Foster a positive working environment within the company.
  • Deliver the highest levels of customer service at all times.

Qualifications and education requirements:

  • NVQ/G&G in culinary / cooking or equivalent.
  • Maintain a valid DBS certificate.
  • Maintain valid food hygiene certificates at all times.

Preferred Skills:

  • Extensive experience in similar role.
  • Strong people skills and knowledge of the local market.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with the FOH Team.
  • Promote a positive working atmosphere.
  • Foster a can-do attitude.
  • Strong understand of running a busy restaurant and events kitchen.
  • Good organisation and time management.
  • Solid understanding of computer software.
  • Maintain a clean presentable image at all times.

Additional notes:

  • The Head Chef is department manager reporting to the F&B manager.
  • Candidate would be expected to work longer hours during peak times especially during wedding and Christmas seasons.
  • Positive approach to developing the product and service offering.
  • Strong expectation to deliver “quality dining experience” in keeping with the brand.
