Salary: £45,000+ dependent on experience / negotiable

Queens Court Law are a well-established and highly regarded practice based in Central London.

Job Overview:

We are looking for a talented and ambitious Head of conveyancing who will be responsible for driving growth in the department and mobilising the team to achieve maximum productivity.

As a qualified, professional property lawyer, you’ll specialise in property law and will work on behalf of clients buying or selling houses, flats, business premises or land in England and Wales. You’ll deal with all the legal matters, administration, finance, and queries involved in a property transaction.

The role involves processing and agreeing mortgages and lease contracts, arranging transfers, and handling other documents that sellers must sign when purchasing property. You’ll also advise clients on the technical content of the documents and their financial implications. You must act on behalf of the vendor or the purchaser, and in certain circumstances for both in the same transaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Dealing with existing lender enquiries and applying for fresh lender panels where appropriate
  • Ensure all conveyancing transactions comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Ensuring work is dealt with in a timely fashion and no deadlines are missed
  • Dealt with all aspect of post-completion
  • Pro-actively resolving problems and clients’ needs
  • Deliver effective supervision of best practice and full implementation of case management standards through day-to-day support of the conveyancing team
  • To ensure the department provide high-quality of service
  • Ensuring the team have regular CQS and general training
  • Work with marketing and other colleagues, to contribute to the development and delivery of effective client relationships to achieve the firm’s strategic objectives to increase case intake.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor / CILEX, ideally 5 years PQE.
  • Solid background in Commercial and Residential Property Conveyancing.
  • Knowledge of all statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Ambitious, determined, and enthusiastic.
  • Ability to build good clients and third-party relationships.
  • Proven experience in team management.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving conveyancing skills.
