Job Title: Head of Digital Marketing

Location: Hybrid working model split between Smarter Media Group HQ, remote and business travel when required

Salary: £90,000 – £100,000

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

Reports to: Group CEO

Smarter Media Group is looking for a talented, dynamic, and experienced Head of Digital Marketing to join their growing group of agencies. This role is suitable for a passionate, results-driven, solutions-focused individual with an established background in delivering growth, enhancing reputation and implementing a clearly defined strategy in accordance with the Group’s vision.

You will work closely with the leaders of each business in the Digital Marketing Vertical, supporting them in achieving their business plans, holding them accountable, and ensuring the overall objectives and targets are met.

Reporting to Group CEO, it will be your role to optimise how Smarter Media Group operates in the Digital Marketing arena. You will be a leader with a proven track record of key stakeholder engagement, the ability to coach and develop teams and manage financial budgets.

Role Requirements

  1. Business Planning and Strategy:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive business plan for each company in the Digital Marketing Vertical, aligning with the Group’s vision.
    • Collaborate with business leaders to create effective sales and marketing plans for each company and support their execution.
    • Monitor the progress of business plans, identify areas for improvement, and take corrective actions as needed.
  2. Performance Management:
    • Set performance targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) for each business within the Digital Marketing Vertical.
    • Monitor and assess the performance of each business, providing guidance and support to address any performance gaps.
    • Hold business leaders accountable for meeting their targets and achieving desired outcomes.
  3. Financial Management:
    • Work closely with the finance team to ensure financial objectives are met within each business.
    • Monitor financial performance, analyse key financial metrics, and identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth.
    • Review and approve budgets, financial reports, and forecasts for each business in the Digital Marketing Vertical.
  4. Reporting and Communication:
    • Collect and compile business performance data and information from each company in the Digital Marketing Vertical.
    • Prepare a comprehensive monthly board pack, highlighting key insights, challenges, and opportunities.
    • Report to the Group Board on a monthly basis, providing updates on the performance and strategic direction of the Digital Marketing Vertical
    • Metrics we will want to monitor, but not limited to: customer metrics, Net promoter score, revenue per employee, marketing and lead generation, sales and conversions.
  5. Mergers and Acquisitions:
    • Play a crucial role in evaluating potential acquisitions, assessing their operational and cultural fit within the Group.
    • Provide recommendations and insights to the Group Board regarding the feasibility and strategic value of potential acquisitions.
    • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure a smooth integration of acquired businesses and teams into the Digital Marketing Vertical.
  6. Leadership and Team Development:
    • Provide strong leadership to the teams within the Digital Marketing Vertical, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
    • Identify talent gaps, recruit key personnel, and provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities.
    • Promote a positive work environment and ensure effective communication across all levels of the organisation
    • Assist business leaders to hire the right staff.

Role Experience:

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role or similar position within the digital marketing industry.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills, with a track record of driving profitable growth.
  • Excellent financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and data to diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in mergers and acquisitions, including assessing operational and cultural fit.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams towards achieving common goals.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry professionals
