Job Title: HR Administrator

Location: Basildon, Essex (with occasional work at Basildon or Southend Hospitals)

Salary: £25,000 per annum

Job Type: Permanent, Full time

SYNLAB Laboratory Services is part of SYNLAB UK & Ireland, who provide laboratory diagnostic and training services to a diverse range of sectors including healthcare and wellness, sport, travel, corporates and insurer, logistics and family law.

The Role:

You will be an integral part of our HR team based in Essex, supporting the smooth functioning of our operations. As an HR Administrator, you will provide essential administrative support to our HR department. Your responsibilities will include facilitating the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring compliance with relevant terms and conditions, and maintaining accurate employee records.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer the onboarding process for new employees, including issuing offer letters and contracts
  • Coordinate pre-employment checks such as DBS, right to work, and references
  • Liaise with various departments to ensure smooth integration of new hires
  • Update HR systems with current staff information
  • Assist in developing and delivering onboarding processes with the Training Manager

HR Administration:

  • Provide general HR administrative support
  • Process contractual changes and leaver forms
  • Generate reports from HR systems for auditing purposes
  • Act as a point of contact for personnel queries
  • Ensure accurate data entry into HR systems
  • Facilitate the leavers administration process and conduct exit interviews
  • Respond to reference requests for current and former staff
  • Maintain personnel files and filing systems
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by management
  • Participate in continuous professional development activities
  • Promote diversity and inclusion within the organisation

Essential Skills and Requirements:

  • GCSE qualifications or equivalent with strong numeracy and literacy skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel
  • Ability to provide accurate advice on payroll and HR matters
  • Teamwork skills with a positive attitude
  • Strong organisational skills and initiative
  • Deadline-oriented with adaptability
  • Good knowledge of HR recruitment and administration processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a diverse workforce
  • Experience in a multi-site organisation
  • Understanding of Pension Schemes
