Salary: Up to £35k per annum DOE

Job Type: Permanent

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours between 9am-5:30pm

About the role:

We are looking for a hands-on, multi-disciplined Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team. You will support the Infrastructure Services Manager and Project Managers in delivering robust, performant, resilient and recoverable infrastructure platforms along with traditional and cloud platforms. You will maintain best practice and infrastructure standards as well as ensuring all platforms are secure and meet all legislative compliance requirements.

What you will be doing:

  • Accurately completes and submits, expenses and timesheets in a timely manner.
  • Accurately completes and submits status reports in a timely manner.
  • Organise and prioritise own workloads.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Actively act on feedback received to improve day-to-day performance.
  • Excellent communication skills.

What we’re looking for:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role in a similar sized organisation, across a broad variety of infrastructure disciplines and technologies, supported by a background in IT support.
  • Previous involvement in the implementation of infrastructure solutions
  • Experience of working on multi-tier, high volume, transactional system platforms and an understanding of the challenges and management
  • Awareness of web application development techniques and tools
  • Experience of creating and maintaining technical solution documents
  • Proactive and logical approach to fault identification, troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Ability to articulate IT issues to non-IT people
  • Working knowledge of ITIL

Key role responsibilities:

  • Excellent communicator able to clearly understand, solve and educate the teams in all technical issues related to your specialisms, have a broad knowledge of infrastructure technologies & best practices.
  • Work with the Senior Infrastructure Engineer, Project team and External technical resource by providing technical expertise to support the design of end to end, secure, and scalable, performant Infrastructure solutions.
  • Participate in the deployment and implementation of the infrastructure technologies.
  • Perform technical evaluation of products within the infrastructure domain.
  • Participate in the technical design of best of breed solutions, exploiting industry best practice.
  • Work closely with the Senior Infrastructure Engineers and peers to deliver cost effective solutions in line with the IT strategy & roadmap whilst implementing appropriate control mechanisms.
  • Contribute to capacity planning exercises across infrastructure platforms using load testing plans/tools.
  • Be continually aware of enhancements available within the current infrastructure solutions as well as any shifts in technology and enhancements that would benefit the business and be able to converse to the wider teams.
  • Work with SecOps performing vulnerability remediation actions and updates, and audit processes.
  • Keep abreast of known and emerging Infrastructure technologies, trends and tools.
  • Work with InfoSec and DPA function, with all audit process and requests, and following incident response processes.
