Job Title: Installation Manager

Based: Pool, Redruth

Salary: £27,500 – £30,000+ (depending on skills and experience)

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Working Hours: 44.5 hours per week – Monday to Thursday 8am to 5.30pm and 8am to 5pm on Friday

This Cornish manufacturing company, which was established in 1985, are currently looking for an Installation Manager to join their team, based out of their factory and showroom in Pool, Redruth.

They design, fabricate, and install conservatories, orangeries, windows, doors and glass balustrading for residential, commercial and trade customers. They have a large showroom displaying both bespoke and standard designs and pride themselves on their well-deserved reputation for innovative design, high quality products and excellent workmanship, followed up with genuine after sales service.

The Role:

You’ll be responsible for the effective management of all aspects of installation, service calls and small works orders.

This will include co-ordinating the procurement of materials, hired equipment and labour, and ultimately overseeing installations to their completion and ensuring project deadlines are met.

You’ll also be required to ensure effective scheduling of the fitting teams, service, and small works engineers

Key Duties:

  • Managing, scheduling, co-ordinating and organising all company installations
  • Ensuring all materials, equipment and labour are available to meet project deadlines and site-specific requirements
  • Manage all material ordering for miscellaneous items and minor glazing works etc.
  • Attend site for pre-installation checks, risk assessments and method statement preparation where necessary
  • Pre-contract assessments with relevant team members, to ascertain all necessary detail in order to co-ordinate all aspects of contract execution. Take a proactive approach in terms of foreseeing challenges and/or any omissions/oversights during sales, surveying, processing, fabrication and masonry phases
  • All on/off hire procedures are maintained

The Candidate:

Essential knowledge, skills and experience

  • Previous Glazing industry experience
  • Ideally suited to someone with previous experience in the same position or an experienced installer/surveyor looking for a move into management
  • The ability to co-ordinate numerous projects simultaneously
  • Experience in the purchasing of materials in a similar role
  • Full driving licence

  • Highly organised with ability to multi-task and deal with multiple contracts and parties simultaneously
  • Confident, self-motivated with the ability to motivate others, a positive attitude and excellent leadership and planning skills
  • Ability to manage and support the workforce
  • A keen eye for detail with an ability to foresee potential issues
  • Trustworthy and reliable
  • Excellent communication skills
