Permanent and temporary contracts | Full and part-time positions | £25,419 to £27,514 per annum (Scale G) pro rata for part-time| Various locations across Norfolk

Are you passionate about providing children and their families with the support they need to thrive? Are you able to build trusting relationships with children, young people, parents and carers to help them make changes? If so, Norfolk County Council Children’s Services have some exciting opportunities for you to work directly with families in their home to make a real difference.

We are looking for people with an NVQ Level 3 and at least three years’ experience in supporting children or families to become Intensive Support Workers.

Intensive Support Workers work alongside Social Workers and Family Support Practitioners to provide support, advice and guidance to vulnerable children and families.

We are looking for people who are passionate, resilient, and motivated to work flexibly with families who are in crisis or struggling to care for their children. We will provide you with all the relevant training, including parenting approaches (like Solihull parenting), trauma-informed practice, Video Interactive Guidance, restorative approaches, Signs of Safety, etc.

We are passionate about supporting our staff to develop and progress, offering a range of apprenticeships and training opportunities on top of the core training offer. Our Intensive Support Workers have progressed to become Senior Family Support Practitioners, Social Workers and Practice Coaches.
