Job Title: Interim Supported Living Specialist, learning disability and autism

Location: Woodchurch

Salary: £50,000 per annum

Job type: Fixed Term Contract for 6 months with the potential to extend.

About us:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and energetic supported living manager with a passion and commitment to enabling people with learning disabilities or autism to live their best lives, to own their own lives and choices, contributing to their communities, to join an organisation with an enduring history of warm, responsive support for people with learning disabilities. This role has arisen out of recent challenges that were discovered in the supported living services COT delivers, leading to CQC assessing those services as inadequate

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Act as service lead in collaboration with senior colleagues and IT leads to improve and develop understanding of benefits and restrictions of system and ensure the business gets the most out of the systems it uses.
  2. To lead super-users through the culture-change around updating systems and providing key support to frontline staff in terms of knowledge of functionality of business applications used.
  3. To provide the service lead for supporting improvement and development and make recommendations to the senior management team in terms of approach and options to ensure the best solutions and outcomes.
  4. Act as the Change Lead for supported living projects including communication and relationship management.
  5. Liaise regularly with Commissioners and circles of support.
  6. Have service review meetings with people we support, their circles of support, commissioners and if appropriate regulatory bodies representatives to ensure requirements are met and exceeded, and new requirements and funding streams are agreed.
  7. Coaching, supervising and developing managers to be leaders in their field and drive the journey to outstanding rating by the CQC.
  8. Carrying out regular service visit audits, completing quality and compliance audits and ensuring the new digital care management system is being fully utilised.
  9. Ensuring the care and support provided to people we support is person centred, outcome based and exceeds the aspiration of a meaningful life.
  10. Ensuring support within services is co-produced reflecting the hopes and aspirations of people we support, including their families and carers.
  11. Participating and supporting our growing co-production drive which aims to enable and encourage the people we support to shape our organisation and influence our strategic business plan, policies and practice.
  12. Supporting and embedding the planned PCAS educational roll out across COT.
  13. Ensuring that all decision making on behalf of people we support follows the principles of the Mental Capacity Act and all Deprivation of Liberty applications are monitored and agreed.
  14. Supporting and embedding our values and mission statements in everything we do to ensure people we support lead aspiring lives.
  15. Managing and delivering key projects as part of the Care and Support business plan and ensure each service has their own business plan which is accessible and known to the people within the service including staff, people we support and families.

What We Offer / Benefits:

  • 22 days annual leave per year (pro rata for part-time staff).
  • Travel expenses will be paid for journeys made for work but not from your home to your permanent place of work.
