The Main Purpose of the Role:

To be a key part of the Inventory Team and to support the Inventory / Warehouse Manager in the smooth running of the warehouse function.

To ensure all business requirements and customer requests related to inventory activities are carried out in full as required.

To ensure accuracy of all stock by following operational processes alongside the accurate use of the Warehouse Management System.

Work alongside the wider team to streamline all inventory processes in order to meet the required performance KPI’s.

To work cohesively with all other support functions within the wider operation and carry out any other tasks as reasonably requested by the business.

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with Customers and Co‐
  • Excellent written, numeracy & accurate data entry skills.
  • Good time keeping & highly organised.
  • Ability to multi‐task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer literate with a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
  • Capability to, and willingness to complete manual handling of stock to re-stack pallets of stock.
  • Strong Team Player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Must have own transportation to work.

Desirable Skills / Experience:

  • 1 years’ experience of working in a Warehouse environment.
  • Licence for (or previous experience of) PPT trucks and Scissor Lift (MEWP).
  • Experience with using RDT scanning equipment & warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Flexibility and willingness to work overtime when needed.

Key Accountabilities:

Stock Control & Inventory:

  • Responsible for checking of all stocks in conjunction with warehouse supervisors in line with the WMS.
  • Follow up enquiries from both the internal customer service team and any external customer requests.
  • Observe correct stock receiving and dispatch protocols are being adhered to.
  • Be responsible for stock take procedures to ensure stock is as accurate as possible at all times.
  • Assist with the administration of products on the WMS and ensuring accuracy of data across all product. Portfolio.
  • Assist with any other administrative duties as required by the Inventory Manager and Warehouse Manager(s).
  • Process any damaged pallet and ensure the stock is costed correctly.
  • Support the on-shift supervisors with checking of loads both inbound and outbound as and when issues arise.
  • Communicate with the transport team to resolve any queries.
  • Work collaboratively with the Returns and Stock Control teams across our other sites.
  • Monitor the email in-box and respond to any stock requests by the customer.
  • Produce accurate documentation for stock checks.
  • Support with traceability of any stocks or unaccounted for stock including writing reports for traceability exercises.
  • Split / merge pallets when required.
  • Supporting the teams with auditing and ensuring that BRC accreditation documentation is up to date and effective.

Communication:

  • Maintain cross functional contact to resolve any queries or problem that may arise.
  • Respond to and deal with both internal and external customer communication by email, phone or verbal conversations.

Teamwork:

  • Encouraging teamwork by displaying the correct behaviours towards all members of the Knowles Transport Ltd teams.
  • Provide ASH cover (absence, sickness & holiday) as required by the business.

Health & Safety:

  • Maintain compliance with the site H&S standards at all times.
  • Attend relevant training courses.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment by performing general housekeeping where necessary.
  • Ensure that all lifting and moving of products are carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures.
  • Support the safety culture by completing near miss forms when a relevant observation is made
