Job Title: IT Installation & Support Technician

Location: Perth, Scotland

Salary: £25,000 – £35,000 per annum (+ car and mobile phone allowance), dependant on skill set and certifications

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

As an IT MSP with a focus on the hospitality sector a further opportunity has arisen to join the IT Technical Team as an IT Installation & Support Technician, supporting a range of high-end hospitality & SMB clients through onsite visits.

Netteam currently have Offices in Newbury, Manchester and a team of field engineers working out of London, and you could become part of this dynamic team as they continue to grow and develop a growing range of clients across Scotland.

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for a versatile engineer who has infrastructure expertise around installing and maintaining Network, WIFI, CCTV & Voice solutions including IT systems such as networks, desktops, server, and cloud solutions.

The ideal candidate will need to have a broad understanding of these solutions as well as network infrastructure and technology. They will need to have excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, alongside experience working on project implementations from a technical perspective, along with a positive helpful outlook when dealing with customers across Scotland.

This is a flexible hands-on role, which requires a varied level of experience, but will regularly involve working alongside Netteam colleagues from other offices.

Key Requirements:

  • Ability to confidently design, install, commissioning and maintaining a range of IT systems to include CCTV, Wifi and Network platforms
  • Good knowledge of IP, networking, and IT infrastructure
  • Ability to run, patch and terminate cabling to support installation of new hardware
  • Ability to provide training to end users for systems being installed and managed
  • Administration and troubleshooting of O/S and Apps consisting of Microsoft Windows Server, Desktop OS, Microsoft Cloud Technologies, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Group Policy, SharePoint, Remote Desktops, DHCP, DNS etc
  • A proven background through an apprenticeship or trade qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Support systems covered by client contracts
  • Full UK driving licence & access to a vehicle.

Essential Knowledge

  • A desire to learn and adapt to new skills and technologies
  • A great team player with the ability to inspire confidence in clients through helping non-technical people understand technical aspects
  • Networking knowledge and skills with experience of maintaining converged network solutions
  • Knowledge of a variety of IT & security infrastructure platforms
  • Experience in remote diagnostics along with analysis and monitoring.

Specific Technical Experience/knowledge

  • Proven knowledge and ability to work on issues relating to Voice, Wifi, CCTV & Networking systems etc
  • Basic understanding of Windows Server infrastructure
  • Full System knowledge of HP/Aruba, Ruckus, Meraki & Watchguard hardware to cover installation, maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Network architecture and system management, including configuring devices consisting of routers, firewalls, and switches (L1, L2 & L3)
  • Security process & procedures, which promote best practice security while maintaining a functional user base.
